Paul and Regina on the EL AMO

Paul called Phil from Texas and spoke with such a nice Southern drawl and Phil thought that he was going to host a charter with a good old boy who spoke his native language (Phil was born in Georgia and although now speaks the Queen's English, often slips back to his roots)  Phil also loves to play the translator between fishermen and crew in his somewhat questionable Spanish.  Well, Paul and Regina spoke perfect Spanish and actually did some translations between the crew for Phil.  Phil is rarely intimidated but this was about as close as he has come this year.  The boat was the EL AMO and it suited this young couple perfectly.  Paul was concerned about the heat but the day was perfect and slightly overcast so everyone was comfortable.  The wild life was spectacular and dolphins, sea turtles and manta rays were abundant.

The original plan of the day was to go after Sails but they were not taking any bait.  The bloom of natural bait was so heavy that they simply played with what was offered and then continued on with their mouths open to enjoy the squid and sardines that were everywhere.  To save the day the EL AMO headed in to Carreyeros to try for the Roosters and they were there.  Paul hooked 2 nice Roosterfish and Regina just wanted to watch him have fun.  Phil totally enjoyed this couple and and really hopes to see them back next year for the marlin or sailfish that they were after this time.
