The STRIKE ONE had a fantastic charter on the 16th of May.  Our next door neighbors in Conchas Chinas, Ted and Karene Will had their children and grandchildren visiting and wanted to take them on the best charter that Phil could provide.  So, once again Captain Hector and the boys were the hosts to a 'Family Fun Day'.  Much to the crew's relief, this family day was totally unlike OUR recent 'Family Fun Day' when the 3 year old stood in the live bait tank and tossed all of the goggle-eye fishies back into the ocean and the rest of the group just wanted to go to the beach. 

The Will family loves to fish, all 11 of them.  Well actually 10 of them enjoyed the fishing, Hans could not get the hang of the rod and reel but totally loved watching the excitement just the same.  The rest of the group, Ben, Stacey, Jessica, Ryan, Josh, Katie, Tim and Wendy all had their share of action.   

The day began with a Sailfish tailer and 2 Marlin strikes as they trolled toward Corbeteñia.  There was lots of bait in the area and they saw a few VW sized tuna but these monsters were still not interested in anything that we had to offer.  A slight rise in the water temperature will soon change this.  Captain Hector received a radio call from another boat that had landed 3 sails so he took off in this direction.  And then, there it was, the most beautiful sight in the ocean to a fisherman in our waters.  What?  A floating tree of course!  A Dorado club house with a meeting in session.  Of course the crew had the bait ready to go and the Will party had an immediate double hookup.  It was a tough fight for the granddaughters, Phil tried to help and even Hans was ready to lend a hand.  The photo shows the catch of the day and we know that this big group enjoyed these Dorado for days to come.
