Tom and Chris on the SOL

Tom Carrazzo and buddy Chris spent the 22nd with Phil and the boys on the SOL.  They were enthusiastic, experienced and interested in our fabulous Roosterfish.  They commented that the variety of fish in our waters was amazing by comparison to what they were accustomed to at home.  Also the fact that each species has different fins and that the fishing is a visual thing, actually watching as the fish chase and hit the bait.  They wanted to experience our Roosterfish and Roosters are what they hooked.

Bill and Matthew on the SOL

Phil was looking forward to meeting Bill Elliot.  Bill had mentioned that his father had created and stocked a fairly amazing little lake in Illinois and Phil was anxious to hear all of the details.  Bill and Matthew spent the 24th on the SOL and did not exactly set any records.  The bait was scarce and what they did hook on Phil's jigs was bitten off by some sharp toothed Wahoo, bait, precious jigs and all.  Bill, a Sashimi fan was anxious to try some fresh Ceviche and Phil had brought along all of the ingredients.  The Wahoo would have been an ideal target but no luck.  They did prepare some with Bonito and it was enjoyed but the close proximity of the Wahoo was hard to take.  We owe Bill a dinner at El Dorado and next time he visits, it will be Phil's treat.
